In addition, the tour will visit Congo Square, located in Louis Armstrong Park in the Treme, the first neighborhood for free people of color. These hallowed grounds were where enslaved people gathered to share recipes, stories and music on their day off. It’s also here that gave birth to New Orleans’ gift to the world, jazz.
